IRC Setup Tutoriale
1) Download mIRC here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html

2) After that run mIRC. You have to start by adding your general info and choosing which server you are going to connect to.
To do so, go to the File menu and click "Select Server" or simply do Alt+E

3) Click on connect and fill in your personal details.

4) As mIRC doesn't have Cyanide-x (the server we use) listed on its default list you have to add Cyanide-x and its servers to the list. To do that you have to click on the servers part of the Connect menu then click the "add" button. Next, fill in the fields as follows:

Description:irc.cyanide-x.net
IRC server: irc.cyanide-x.net
Port(s): 6667
Group: Cyanide

click add

5) click on options, below servers and make sure the first two options: "connect on startup" and "reconnect on disconnection" are ticked

6) next it is time to set up your nickname. this is what your name will show as when you type smile.gif

type the following, you will also need to register your nickname so others may not use it. where there is text between <and>, delete the <> then replace and with the text you want

./nick <nickname>
./ns register <password> <email>

there! done! or should be if you haven't picked a nickname already in use

7) go to File > Select Server

- click "Options" then "Perform"
- change "networks" to Cyanide
- in the white box below, type the following:

./nick <nickname>
./msg nickserv IDENTIFY <password>


now press "ok" then restart mIRC

9) you should be set to go now! try the above steps out and we should speak to you on IRC soon!
